A six-year-old boy is going viral for his honest and insightful reviews of the classic childhood drink, the Shirley Temple. Lots of us enjoyed ordering these pink mocktails when we went out to dinner with our families and Leo Kelly does too, so much so that he’s been dubbed “The Shirley Temple King.”
In case you’re unfamiliar, the drink is typically made with ginger ale, grenadine, and maraschino cherries and little Leo has become an expert on what makes them great, or not. He even has his own Instagram account, called … @theshirleytempleking. It’s filled with videos and photos of his reviews, like the one for his favorite Shirley Temple so far, which came from Hoodoo Brown BBQ in Ridgefield, Connecticut. He’s a big fan of their drink because it has cherries on the outside AND on the inside and there’s an American flag pick holding them together, so he gives it a 9.5 out of 10.
But The Shirley Temple King calls it like he sees it and he’s not always impressed with the drinks he’s served. He knocked Longhorn Steakhouse’s version because it didn’t contain any cherries. The kid likes what he likes and he’s not afraid to say it!
