Saginaw County Jail In Michigan is no longer allowing their inmates to wear orange jumpsuits!! Inmates are now required to wear the classic black and white striped uniforms. They feel that because of the rise of the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, people are beginning to think of the orange jumpsuits as being "cool."
According to Elite Daily, Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel said, "When the lines get blurred between the culture outside the jail and the culture within the jail, I have to do something to redefine those boundaries because they've been blurred far too often in public culture."
I can't say that this change in prison attire surprises me but I also don't know if it was really necessary!
