Realtor.com just released their annual list of "America’s Hottest Zip Codes," basing their determination on how quickly properties sell, as well as how frequently homes are viewed in each area. The Top 10 markets each have homes that sell, on average, within eight days, and have 3.7-times more buyer views than a typical listing. Nine of the Top 10 zip codes are making the list for the first time, with many in the New England area. Topping the list this year Brighton, New York, in the Rochester area, where homes sell, on average, in six days with 4.2-times more buyer views than an average listing. The median listing price in the area is $275,000. Of the zip codes on the list, the average asking price is $432,000, with prices across the hottest zip codes growing 18.6% year over year, compared to nationwide (16.9%.)
