More celebs pledge big money to disaster relief

Sandra Bullock has pledged a million dollars to the Red Cross to help the Hurricane Harvey relief effort. And this isn’t her first donation. Since 2001, she’s given $5-million bucks to the organization to help when disasters strike.

Leonardo DiCaprio has pledged a million bucks to the newly established United Way Harvey Recovery Fund. All proceeds of this fund will go directly to recovery efforts – work the organization expects to continue for years. Leo – through his namesake foundation – has provided disaster relief to the victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2010 Haitian earthquake, and Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

Rachael Ray has donated a million bucks – thanks to her Nutrish brand – to help animals affected by the big storm. She announced on her Facebook page that she was going to support various animal welfare organizations that are actively working in Texas and Louisiana to care for displaced creatures. The SPCA of Texas and Austin Pets Alive! got $100-thousand dollars a piece.
