Hollywood Week began on “American Idol.” During this time, 169 singers will be whittled down to 24. They started singing by themselves and then went into the group rounds.
- Standouts in the solo round include Alyssa Raghu, Jonny Brenns, Dennis Lorenzo, Jurnee, and Catie Turner. Trevor Holmes spent his first audition flirting with Katy Perry. His girlfriend was NOT having it.
- They went directly into the group round. One of the best groups was God’s Diversity – which included Michael Woodward, Thaddeus Johnson, Shannon O’Hara and Kourtney Smith – did an awesome job on “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit. Four out of the five singers in that group went through.
- On the flipside, Superdope Hotness, wasn’t as great. Milo Sposato – one of the twins – decided that his group’s song choice wasn’t his favorite. He made an executive decision to do his own thing at the end of the song – much to the chagrin of his group. Fortunately, they all made it through.
The solo rounds begin on Sunday, and the top 24 will be revealed on Monday on “American Idol.”
