During yesterday’s “The Ellen Show,” Ellen DeGeneres had welcomed the stars of “World of Dance” and accidentally introduced Jenna Dewan as Jenna Dewan Tatum. Jenna has unofficially dropped Tatum from her name since splitting from husband Channing Tatum, but as Ellen points out, it’s still force of habit to call her “Tatum.”
The host quickly realized her blunder and pronounced her name correctly before introducing Derek Hough and Ne-Yo to the show. However, Ellen gave Jenna a formal apology before cutting to break. “I have to say, before we go to break, I’m so sorry,” says Ellen. “I introduced you and it was such a habit, and I have to say the way that you and Channing are handling everything is beautiful for your daughter and the statements have been great. I apologize. I just have known both of you for so long.”
No hard feelings on Jenna’s end. She responded, “I know. Thank you. Honestly, thank you and everybody for all the love and support. It’s truly, so amazing. Thank you. It’s all love!” Jennifer Lopez, who was also on the show, then pulled her in for a hug.
