It's the 200 Greatest Songs by 21st Century Women

NPR is celebrating women in music with a new list of the 200 Greatest Songs by 21st Century Women, and artists like Lorde, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and more made the list.

Coming in at number one is M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes,” because NPR notes it "solidified her as a biting analyst willing to use her pop stardom to expose the flaws in the very system of pop stardom itself."

Coming in at number two is the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s “Maps,” followed by Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On IT) at three, Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” at four and Alabama Shakes’ “Hold On” at five.
