Ariana Grande paid tribute to the late Aretha Franklin during her appearance last night on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.” The singer performed the Queen of Soul classic “(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman.”
TMZ reports that Ari was initially supposed to do a comedy sketch with Jimmy but plans changed following Aretha’s death. She was reportedly hesitant to perform the song because she was too emotional following the singer’s death, but was eventually convinced to do it by The Roots’ Questlove.
In the end, Ari nailed the performance, and got a standing ovation, but she reportedly left the stage in tears.
