Looks like Idol is coming together for 2020

It looks like there won’t be any changes at “American Idol” for the upcoming season. The network has confirmed that Katy Perry, LukeBryan and Lionel Richie will be returning for the new season.

Some reports had suggested that “Idol” would be making some changes, especially since Katy earns a huge salary of $25 million per season, but they apparently thought better of it. Bobby Bones will also return as the show’s in-house mentor.

ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke notes, “We couldn’t be more excited for Katy, Luke, Lionel and Bobby to continue in their roles as ‘American Idol’ searches for the next great music star, with more live episodes and exciting, new creative elements coming this season.”

The new season of “American Idol” will premiere on ABC in spring of 2020.
