December 21st, Eddie returns

Eddie Murphy’s comeback is officially official - as it's been announced that he’ll be hosting “Saturday Night Live” for the first time in over 30 years on December 21st.

Of course, Murphy rose to fame while working on the sketch show from 1980 to 1984. During that time, he made history when he stepped in to host in 1982 when the original host for the evening, Nick Nolte, got sick. That made him the only cast member to host the show as a series regular. The only time he’s been on the show since he left was in 2014 when he came through for “SNL’s” 40th anniversary special.

Eddie’s “SNL” star turn comes after his reported multi-million dollar deal with Netflix for a new comedy special and the filming of “Coming to America 2.”
