Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino Released From Prison

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is a free man.

According to TMZ, the Jersey Shore star was released from prison at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday (September 12) after serving nearly seven months behind bars.

"We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life," Mike and his wife Lauren said in a statement. "Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort. We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations!"

As fans know, the Sitch was locked up in federal prison since January for tax evasion. He was sentenced to an eight-month prison sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York last October, while his brother Marc got two years behind bars.

Before starting his sentence, Mike married his longtime girlfriend Lauren in November. The entire Jersey Shore cast was in attendance for the big day, which was filmed for Jersey Shore Family Vacation season 3.

Last week, Mike shared a photo of Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino visiting him while he was incarcerated. "My brothers come to visit me on tonight’s all new #JSFamilyVacation starting NOW! 🙏🏼☝🏼," he captioned the Instagram post.
