Elon Musk is now thinking of making X aka Twitter a subscription-based platform.
This week Musk brought up this idea about having users pay to be on the social media platform saying that:
“We’re moving to having a small monthly payment for use of the X system,” Musk told Netanyahu, claiming that “it’s the only way I can think of to combat vast armies of bots.”
Nothing else was mentioned like when he plans to do this or how much this monthly fee would cost. Ever since Musk acquired Twitter/X, he said that their ad sales have plummeted by 50%. YIKES! As of right now, the X subscription program called X Blue (which was known as Twitter Blue) charges user $8 a month for the perks like a verified check-mark. There's other perks that come with X Blue such as: ability to edit a post within a 1 hour window, 50% reduction in ads, "prioritized rankings" or a user's posts in conversations and search and more! Would you pay to use Twitter/X if Musk ends up charging a monthly fee? For more, click here.
