Instead of wanting to be married on a beach or near the water, a couple had a vision of being married in the water – and were actually able to pull it off and enjoy a “mermaid wedding.”
After being told it was impossible, the couple –- Susana of Newton, New Jersey, and Jovany of Medellin, Colombia – got married off the coast of Cozumel, Mexico.
Their wedding planner thought it would be too complicated to have more than 100 guests in the ocean, but their photographer was excited at the idea of shooting such a wedding and convinced everyone involved that this dream wedding was worth the extra planning.
It took two boats and a catamaran to transport the guests – and a photography team of eight people used underwater cameras and drones to capture some amazing images, including Susana’s pink mermaid dress.
Susana explained that her happiest days were always in the water, so it was natural that her “big day” would also be there.
