Katie Couric is leaving Yahoo in the wake of its $4-point-5 billion dollar merger with Verizon. She’s been with the company since 2013 as their “global news anchor.”
Apparently Katie’s original agreement, which was worth $10 million dollar a year, ran out in early spring and she agreed to a few months extension. She’s agreed to continue to collaborate with Tim Armstrong, the CEO of Verizon’s AOL-Yahoo mashup, to create content.
Next up for Katie is a Netflix show in development that’ll be based on the ProPublica article, “An Unbelievable Story of Rape.” She’s also got six one-hour specials with National Geographic, and her web series with her husband, John Molner, “Full Plate.”
