“Nashville” star Chip Easton opened the vigil with a few words, sharing that everyone was gathered to “wrap our arms around Las Vegas and all those who suffered,” from the attack, adding “we’re hear to lift up” those who died, those who are wounded and their loved ones, as well as those who are “mourning.”

Vince Gill was the night's first performer, singing “Go Rest High on the Mountain” and “Amazing Grace,” while his wife Amy Grant led the audience in a prayer. Keith Urban also attended the vigil, singing Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Waters,” and talking about having to discuss the tragedy with his daughter, and explaining to her that the fans “were like family.” And Alison Krauss closed the performances with a beautiful version of “Amazing Grace.”

Before the night wrapped, Easton returned asking for the public to help those affected by the tragedy. He urged folks to help the victims by giving to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s Music City Cares Fund.
