Gas prices are high—and scammers know it. One to watch out for is called “pump switching.” It starts when a friendly stranger offers to pump your gas for you. Sounds nice, right? But while you’re thanking them and driving off, they may leave the pump running and use it to fill up their own car—on your card.
It’s sneaky, it’s simple, and it’s still catching people off guard. Bottom line: pump your own gas, keep an eye on the nozzle, and don’t let kindness cost you at the pump.
