Prince William is next in line to be King of England, and being prince and heir to the British throne comes with many perks, including a pretty hefty salary.

A new Integrated Annual Report published by the Duchy of Cornwall on July 24 revealed that the Prince of Wales received a surplus of £23.6 million, or about $30.4 million, from the estate for the 2023-2024 financial year, the first full year since receiving his new title of Duke of Cornwall, a title previously held by his father King Charles III prior to his ascendancy to the throne in 2022 following the death of Queen Elizabeth II and his subsequent coronation in May 2023, per People.

The estate, which manages the royal family's vast properties around England, was established by King Edward III in 1337 and provides funds for the heir to the throne, covering the official, charitable and private expenses of Prince William as well as his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. People noted that Prince William reportedly pays income tax on the funds he receives from the Duchy of Cornwall, minus household expenses for his family.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Prince William's income was slightly higher than that of his father when he held the title in the 2022-2023 year, with Charles receiving around £24 million, or $30.93 million.
