A popular Halloween store in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, has introduced a $10 cover charge for entry. Frazetta's Costumes' owner, Bill Frazetta, blames online influencers and shoplifters for the new policy. According to Frazetta, TikTokers often film videos in his store, leave a mess, and then depart without making a purchase. He also claims that theft has been a persistent issue over the years.
The new fee, however, will be applied to any purchase made in the store on the same day. Children accompanied by adults will not be charged for entry, but unaccompanied minors will be subject to the fee. Despite some mixed reactions online, Frazetta maintains that the response has been largely positive.
According to WNEP, Frazetta's Costumes has been a staple in the community since 1981 and is known for its extensive selection of costumes and Halloween items. Despite the potential for a decrease in business due to the new policy, Frazetta is prepared to take the hit. He told WFMZ, "I could have retired 15 years ago. I'm doing this for the people that love the business, respect the business, see my hard work, and appreciate what I've done."
