FRANCE-WEATHER-AUTUMN

The northern zone of the Poconos, including areas like Hawley and Honesdale, is expected to witness the peak of its fall foliage this week, according to the latest Poconos Foliage Forecast. The forecast suggests that the leaves in this region are currently at their most vibrant, making this weekend an ideal time for leaf-peeping.

Taryn Kloth, a 27-year-old from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is set to make her Olympic debut at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Kloth, who switched from indoor to beach volleyball in 2019, has quickly risen to the top of the sport alongside her partner Kristen Nuss.

The Poconos, home to more than 127 varieties of trees, shrubs, and plants, is a popular destination for fall foliage viewing. The region spans 2,400 square miles of northeastern Pennsylvania, allowing visitors to experience peak colors not just once, but three times due to the presence of three distinct color zones. The northernmost color zone, which includes northern Wayne and Pike Counties, is expected to reach full color by October 10, 2024, according to the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau.

The central color zone, encompassing southern Wayne, Pike, and northern Monroe Counties, is projected to reach peak color by October 14, 2024. The southern color zone, which includes southern Monroe County and Carbon County, is expected to reach peak color between October 15 and 20, 2024.

The rest of the Poconos, including areas like Weatherly and Jim Thorpe, will see their trees turn throughout the rest of October. Visitors are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly to experience the stunning fall views at their peak.
