The Heat Continues: The Forecast From CBS 21 Meteorologist Steve Knight

HEAT WAVE:

Today is day two of what will be an almost week long heat wave. Hazy, hot and humid conditions are expected under abundant sunshine and highs in the mid 90s. Except for a passing morning thunderstorm on Thursday, skies will remain mostly sunny, and the high temperatures won't budge from the mid 90s. The worst of the heat will arrive heading into this weekend, as temperatures surpass 95 on Saturday, again with hazy, humid conditions with lots of sunshine. Make sure to stay hydrated during this heat wave and to limit strenuous outdoor activities if possible.

A HINT OF RELIEF:

A cold front approaches from the northwest late weekend and into Monday, which brings the threat of thunderstorms - while this won't knock down the humidity levels too much, this may bring our temperatures just below 90, which would signal the end of the heat wave.

A NOTE FOR PARENTS:

During this time of extended high heat, make sure to check the back seats of your car as you head inside. It's crucial to prevent child-related hot car deaths, so it's better to be safe than sorry.

CBS 21 FIRST WARNING WEATHER FORECAST:

Today: Mostly Sunny: High 94

Tonight: Partly Cloudy: Low 72

Tomorrow: Chance of a Morning Shower or T’Storm, Mostly Sunny: High 94

Friday: Mostly Sunny: High 94
