>>Surgeon General Advisory Calls Parental Stress A Public Health Concern
(Washington, DC) -- The surgeon general says parental stress is a serious public health concern. Vivek Murthy released an advisory on Wednesday and said the work of parenting is essential not only for the health of children but also for the health of society. The advisory added parents are increasingly overwhelmed by the "dizzying pace" of the world. It cites a 2023 American Psychological Association survey that says a third of parents report high stress compared to 20-percent of non parents.
