The Golden Girls-themed restaurant is now open for business. The La Rue Café serves breakfast and lunch in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan.
Michael LaRue – who was friends with the late Rue McClanahan and inherited a lot of memorabilia from the show – has decorated the place with that stuff. You can also get fan favorites like Dorothy’s salty caramel cheesecake and a coconut Betty White cake.
“The Golden Girls” – which also starred the late Bea Arthur and Estelle Getty – aired from 1985 to 1992.
