President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama are currently fielding offers for their memoirs, and the bid has reportedly reached a whopping $60-million.
While Barack and Michelle plan to write separate books, they’re selling the rights together as a package. So far, Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, and Macmillan are battling for the opportunity to publish their autobiographies.
If the Obamas agree to take the $60-mill, they’ll break the record for a presidential memoir. President Bill Clinton currently holds the record with $15-million.
