According to "Variety" Carrie Underwood has been in talks about joining "Idol", while Adam Lambert is also being considered. In addition, sources tell “Us Weekly” that the network has signed Chris Daughtry to the new version of the talent show, although the trade says the rumor's not true.
ABC is also interested in nailing down some superstars for the panel. As of now, the only other name that’s been linked to the “Idol” reboot is Katy Perry, who is said to be close to a deal to sign on as judge. Meanwhile, some reports claim Coldplay's Chris Martin has been approached as well, but his rep says, there's “absolutely no truth to this."
ABC is expected to announce some "Idol" news today during their up-fronts at New York's Lincoln Center.
