Harry Styles’ big screen acting debut “Dunkirk” is set to open July 21st, but it turns out his One Direction fame didn’t actually help him get his part. Director Christopher Nolan admits he didn’t really know much about the extent of Harry's fame when he cast him in his role.
"I don't think I was that aware really of how famous Harry was" Nolan shared. "I mean, my daughter had talked about him. My kids talked about him, but I wasn't really that aware of it. So the truth is, I cast Harry because he fit the part wonderfully and truly earned a seat at the table."
Meanwhile, Harry’s co-star Mark Rylance was also pretty clueless about Harry’s fame, until he was schooled by his 11-year-old niece. "She was just more excited than anything I've ever done because I was going to be acting with Harry Styles," the Oscar and Tony winner says. "I went up in her estimation. I won the Harry!"
