So apparently the whole idea of “multitasking” is kind of a myth. A new study found that our brains literally can’t do two things at once. Even if you practice for weeks, your brain isn’t multitasking — it’s just switching between tasks really fast.
And that constant back‑and‑forth? It wears us out and makes us way more likely to mess up. Since your brain has to line everything up in a certain order, even the smallest distraction can throw the whole system off.
That’s why things like texting while driving are still so dangerous. No matter how good you think you’ve gotten at juggling, the brain just wasn’t built to run two tracks at the same time.
