Justin Timberlake's mugshot was released less than 24 hours after he was arrested.
The Sag Harbor Police Department shared the rare image with TMZ on Tuesday, June 17. His aloof expression on his face and the exhaustion in his glossy eyes are on full display in this up-close photo. Timberlake was charged with one count of Driving While Intoxicated after he spent the night in jail. He was arraigned and released earlier this morning. Photographers spotted him walking out of the courthouse with his attorney Ed Burke, Jr.. He wore a black hat, a button-down shirt, jeans, and a pair of shades.
According to CNN, Timberlake was driving his gray 2025 BMW UT on Monday night after he spent a night out with some friends at the American Hotel in the Hamptons, New York. At around 12:30 a.m., Sag Harbor police noticed Timberlake after he allegedly blew past a stop sign and swerved on the road. An officer on the scene said the pop star smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. Timberlake also "had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.” The entire interaction was reportedly caught on a police bodycam.
The 43-year-old reportedly told cops he only "had one martini and I followed my friends home." His friends also showed up at the scene and tried to vouch for him, but they couldn't save him. After he declined to perform chemical tests and a breathalyzer, Timberlake was placed in handcuffs and taken into custody. He was held overnight and released after his arraignment.
Justin Timberlake is expected back in court on July 26. So far, neither he nor his wife Jessica Biel have commented on the situation.
