Wine-loving Pearl Jam fans who wanted to get their hands on a box of four wines approved by the band really had to act fast. The vino reportedly sold out within 12 minutes of being announced through Pearl Jam’s email newsletter. The box set “Home X Away” was created by the Underground Wine Project and all the profits went to the band’s charity, the Vitalogy Foundation.
Each of the 450 limited edition sets contained four bottles of the Underground Wine Project’s Idle Hands wine, each with a different label designed by Pearl Jam’s art crew, showing an interpretation of the four cities the band will be playing on its upcoming “Home X Away” tour. The boxes sold for $150, but if you missed out and still want to sip the wine, an additional 50 cases are stocked at Seattle’s Ethan Stowell Restaurants to be sold on August 8th, when Pearl Jam’s shows start there.
