PennDOT announced today that a long-term lane restriction is scheduled to be implemented on Monday, December 16, on Route 22/322 westbound between Newport and Millerstown exits in Greenwood Township, Perry County.
There have been recent incidences of rock fall activity at this location. PennDOT contractor JD Eckman, Inc., will install concrete barrier in the right (driving) lane to prevent rocks from entering the roadway. The lane will be closed. The left (passing) lane will remain open.
PennDOT is working with the contractor to develop a plan to remediate the issue. Remediation efforts are weather dependent.
